Here we are. It’s August. How did we get here?
I wish I had a “one size fits all” answer that would fit neatly for you. But, no, not yet. The clearest answer I can provide is this: We are here.
I am in a place where I want to continue to work towards doing something about what we are all struggling with: our leadership, our feelings, racism, fears, and uncertainty. And I don’t want to just “talk about it.” I want to “be about it.”
As my meme says, the narrative is there - we are all “talking about it” - some more than others, of course. Yet, what are we really doing about it?
I've got 4 new program offerings to "do" something about it, all are uniquely different, just like my approach to leadership development with an equity lens. How are we contributing to structures and systems that are anti-racist? To do this, we have to do our inner-work with quality leadership development. We’ve got to deep dive into those places in ourselves that we often don't address, especially professionally. If we don’t, then we will just continue to get/have more of the same.
And the last thing we need is more of the same.
